Once upon a time, not so long ago, I would have considered this article – published as it was in the New York Times at a fairly serious time in our existence – a sure sign of the Apocalypse. For two reasons, first for its content, second that it is considered news. I mean, c’mon, a rendezvous hotel for dogs, ala the old Stanhope and New York City executives? What an amazingly inane idea – one I am sure is totally lost on the, um, er, guests – and a serious waste of money. I thought. On first reading.
